Ancient Athenic vs. Corinthian Architecture

Athens used a form of Architecture known today as the Ionic Order. Of the three orders, the Ionic is the semi-intricate order. The top of the column is a scroll shape, as used in the Parthenon of Athens. This order is believed to have origins in Asia. Therefore this is a multi-cultural peace of work.
In Corinth the name of the order is pretty easy. It’s called the Corinthian Order. Obviously this order was born and raised in Corinth. This order was a massive extension of the Ionic Order. It includes a scroll, with very intricate carvings underneath. This order was not nearly as widely spread as the Doric or Ionic. This makes it very hard to study. Therefore hundreds of years later it’s still a challenge to understand what was behind the minds of the architects.
Both Athens and Corinth used one of the orders to build their mighty city-states. In both orders they were made of marble. Also, the way the columns are put together are the same and very unique from other cultures. The Greeks had one skinnier marble column in the center, and then they put seven disks of marble over the skinnier column. Most cultures at that time, would just put a big block of marble up. The Greeks somehow invented so many advanced ways of life.
